چکیده

The ZZ genotype of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) is strongly associated with COPD, even in never-smokers. Moderate AATD genotypes (MZ and SZ) have been shown to increase the severity COPD smokers. In this comparative study, we examine association between AATD, genotypes, smoking cessation. Two hundred ninety-three Irish people [MZ (n = 91), SZ 72), ZZ/rare 130)] completed a custom questionnaire assessing their social histories. primary outcomes analyzed were predictors ever-smoking effect on awareness maintained cessation, using logistic regression analyses. Parental exposure was status (OR 1.84 vs. no parental smoking, p 0.018), higher cumulative tobacco consumption (23.47 14.87 pack-years, 0.005) more quit attempts required achieve cessation among former-smokers (2.97 5.60, 0.007). Awareness 67.7% versus 56.3% 33% for ZZ, SZ, MZ, respectively (p < 0.001). Among ever-smokers, current-smoking uncommon (2.5% 17% 16% respectively, 0.009) ZZs significantly less likely be current-smokers 0.15 relative 0.025). These results suggest that genetic risk families compounded by transmission factors (via smoking). Increasing lower rates ever-smokers. Whether attributable greater an area interest. Achieving change habits may also result positive health behavior subsequent generations.

This factor may be applicable to periodontal disease if this disease is chronically affected by smoking epidemic. We searched the literature elec...
